Bluenose 1921–2021
Often referred to as the ‘Queen of the North Atlantic’, the Bluenose is famous for its championship racing. It is less known for its history as an accomplished fishing vessel. These stamps illustrate the two identities of the Bluenose and were influenced by the style and paintings of Nova Scotia artist, William deGarth. His painting Bluenose and Three Dories, shown on the First Day Cover, was the inspiration for the fishing stamp.
